THE ITEM | Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks

If  I have to choose just a type of lipsticks, I will surely go for the sheer ones. For a night out or a special event I dare to wear a bold lip but the 90% of time I am late and I just run out of the door and put on the lipstick while walking. Plus, I am fascinated by those 60’s icons like Jane Birkin or Brigitte Bardot with their luscious lips with just a hint of colour. Now, even though I do not have those full lips I am always looking for the perfect lipstick to recreate that effect. Because of this reason I accidentally started putting on my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine collection through the years and I would have bought even more shades if these lipsticks weren’t so pricey.

Channeling My Inner Cara

Beauty, just as fashion, runs in circles. Trends come quick in succession and often make-up takes inspiration from runway looks. Nowadays the focus is all on eyebrows and a few years ago everything started from Cara Delevingne. After several years when over plucking seemed the right thing to do -with permanent consequences may I add – the fever for the British model created an overturn. Starting from high fashion editorials, big wild brows has become more and more popular and the latest normcore wave has seen all over the street style snaps natural and glowy face, minimal make-up and statement brows. A partire dai …

New Year, New Beauty Haul

Happy 2015 everyone! In fact, even if it is already mid January and I had some days off to work this is the first blog post of the year. Despite my Christmas holidays have been relaxing – ehm, boring – and sickly and then I had a hectic return to work I found the time for doing some birthday/christmassy shopping anyway. But, even though I bought most of these items during the sales, I ended up buying items not on sale. For what concerns skincare, I have a very sensitive skin and sometimes it tends to have acne. Currently my skin it’s not that problematic – also thanks to Braun Face – so I decided to try a clarifying serum to even out my complexion. I bought the Kiehl’s Clearly Correcting Dark Spot Solution paired with the Ultra Light UV Defense Moisturizer. Even if it’s too early to look for results at the moment I can say that I quite like how these products feel on my skin. Also because of my kinda flawless skin period …

THE ITEM | NARS Audacious Lipstick

NARS lipsticks are always on point. In fact, I love every lip products I’ve tried from this brand – above all the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella – so when everyone in the beauty sphere started talking or writing about the Audacious Lipstick range I could not help buying it.  I wanted to try Ingrid because I saw it on a lot of youtube videos but unfortunately we don’t have all the original 40 shades here in Italy. In the end, I choose the Jeanne shade which is a semi-matte cherry red with a hint of brown. It has a long lasting formula and gives a high coverage without over drying the lips. I love the bold lips trend and I wear this with a natural eye make-up and a lot of mascara. Now I am torn whether to buy an orangey red shade from the Semi Matte line or not. I let you guess what my final decision will be. Have you tried yet this new NARS line? If yes, what did you think about it and what colour would you recommend?

The “nude” edit

No guys, I am not talking about iClouds or Snapchat. I do the same make-up all the time: I don’t feel confortable wearing heavily coloured eyeshadows but I tend to opt for taupey-bronzey shadows because according to me they enhance the eyes the most. For this reason I tried to collect all my favourite nude eyeshadows dividing them in small categories and to share them with you. Cream eyeshadows  You can use these cream eyeshadows for different purposes, as a base or just alone. Bare Study and Permanent Taupe are both very renowned and I can see where the fuss is coming from. They have the perfect creamy texture but they fix in place and they don’t go into the crease. Mono eyeshadows I have to admit that I am not very into MAC eyeshadow but I do love Satin Taupe. I think it was one of the first eyeshadows I have ever bought and it accords perfectly to my skin and eyes colours. Switching on the cheaper side, lately L’Oreal is coming out with …

My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

Earlier this week I went back to my parent’s house for university’s summer break so I had to pack all my stuff including my nail polishes. As you can see I went a little bit crazy while packing so I picked up only eight nail polishes and they are basically all the shades I tend to use lately. Isn’t that an excuse good enough for a nail polishes’ summer selection? Essie Nail Lacquer in Lacquered up and Capri | Essie  has been my favourite nail polishes brand so far. These two shades, in particular, are bright orange-y toned and they don’t contain any shimmer in them, they dry very quick and last five day without chipping. Formula X Nail Color in Outrageous and Unmistakable | I recently discovered this brand thanks to one of my favourite youtubers, Estée on essiebutton. These are the only two shades I own but they are both incredible. They dry instantly and you don’t need to use a top coat. Dior Diorlisse in 500 Pink Petal and Vernis in 483 Pink Kimono | These …

THE ITEM | Dolce & Gabbana Shaping Eyebrow Pencil

Lately there’s an hype/excitement over brows and I am full on it. I could go out with no foundation, concealer – I am sorry for you all – or lipstick but I can’t renounce to fix my eyebrows because it instantly gives a fresher look to my puffy face. I have always used the MAC Eyebrows Pencil in Lingering and the Kiko Eyebrow Expert in 01 but I wasn’t completely pleased, therefore I continued to look around for something new to try. It seems to me that every blogger or youtuber own the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and I was fascinated by its triangular shape. Of course, they don’t sell Hourglass in Italy so I repeatedly searched for another brand who produced a similar pencil and then I found out the Dolce & Gabbana Shaping Eyebrow Pencil. I didn’t find a lot of reviews about it so I went to the nearest counter, I tried it on and Preach it!. I ruminated about the possibility to purchase that product or not because it’s extremely high-priced but then I gave up. The triangular shape makes the application …

Current Beauty Favourites

It’s not already the end of the month but I thought to write a post about my favourite products at this time because they are so awesome that I have just repurchased some of them. Rilastil Aqua Moisturizing Cream SPF 15 | This is my favourite moisturizer ever and I haven’t changed it since I bought the first package two years ago. I have a very sensitive skin with some spots sometimes andthis is the perfect products for me. I don’t know if it’s easy to find outside Italy but if you can I recommend it. Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum | On the Caudalie website is described as “lightweight milky serum corrects and prevents dark spots, evens skin tone and boosts skin’s radiance” and there isn’t anything more appropriate to say! Bourjois healthy mix serum | I purchased this foundation last summer when I was still living in Madrid and I don’t know why I stopped using it last winter. It gives a natural glowy effect but it evens the skin as well. It works …

What’s in my bag?

The ‘What’s in my bag?’ tag is one of the most popular tags on youtuber and blogs so I decided to make it myself too. I included my most used bag and it’s a very cheap but chic one from Zara; for the daytime I prefer a spacious bags like this one so I can carry around every item I need. The first thing I put in my bag is definitely my inseparable iPhone 5 and right now its cover is the Kate Spade Le Pavillion case. Asos Wayfarer sunglasses_ I bought them last year and I love how they fit my face shape, even better than the original sunglasses from Ray-Ban. Tod’s wallet_ This wallet is quite old and dirty but its taupey colour is a classic. Daily Life Notebook_ I purchased this notebook while back in Shanghai and I can’t know which brand it is from but it’s the most useful organizer and has also a plain section for notes. Canon Ixus 127 HS_ this compact camera was a present and although it’s …

Beauty Haul

A few day ago I dashed by Sephora and bought some item that I clearly don’t need but how could I resist to another lip stain and cheek kit? NARS NARSissist Cheek Kit | I am fond of NARS products since when I saw them in the “Sex & The City” series. Until today I’ve only been using my NYX contouring powder so I decided to give this kit a go because it contains two of the most talked about cheek products: Laguna bronzer, Orgasm blush and Devotee highlighter. Besides this kit comes with a brush but I think it’s a little bit scratchy. YVES SAINT LAURENT Vernis à lèvres in 5 Rouge Vintage | For my first YSL product I decided to try this legendary lip stain in a light plum color.
